An ancient forest pond, mentioned in the doomsday book, this pond contained many different species of wildlife, and was a breeding area for sea trout, salmon and the infamous pike. Drained by the Forestry Commission some years ago for reasons only known to them, but re-instated after pressure from local residents, this pond has lost nearly all its rare species now, and is heavily silted up.
