This is the view of our village green during day time when the students from the college opposite have arrived. Quite often the green is almost entirely circled with cars, vans, motor bikes etc. this inconsiderate parking has caused numerous problems for local residents, and others, as the roads around the green are being virtually turned into a single carriageway. The edges of the green are being worn away by tyres running over them, not helped by buses transporting students, circling the green and having to run over the grass, to get past the parked cars. This problem is not new, we have been putting up with these students parking wherever they like for over 6 years, the village people want yellow lines around the green and other areas affected, but what do the council do, Talk a lot but not much else. How long does it take to paint a yellow line around the green, 10 minutes, 30 minutes or maybe an hour at the most. Pathetic, even the Police are fed up with people complaining.
Isn't it time everyone got together and told the council where they can put their Council Tax bills.
Update
Finally, NFDC has painted yellow lines around the green and most of the rest of our village, not that I have seen any traffic wardens enforcing the new restrictions.
