This view is one of many I have encountered depicting damage due to lack of maintenance by the Forestry Commission. The river has become almost totally blocked with debris piling up behind the fallen tree, the water has to go somewhere, so it has cut a new path, which has resulted in 15 ft. of river bank being washed away. Once again money takes precedence over the health of the forest. Unfortunately the Forestry Commission cannot afford to maintain the forest due to the present government milking the forest financially, no doubt to fund Europe.
